Frank de Graaf and his cult see themselves as the solution to all the world’s problems. Frank de Graaf and his cult see themselves as the solution to all the world’s problems. By birthing the new Christ in the person of Frank de Graaf, the cult will radically transform individual lives and the world as a whole. This elitism brings a heightened sense of group unity and responsibility focused on a shared purpose. It completely covers the emptiness of life that his disciples (and a lot of other human beings as well of course) struggle with. Men are making large financial contributions and women are giving away their autonomy completely and are directing their sexuality to one person, all in the belief that they will realise themselves and are birthing a new Christ on earth.
He maintains strict control over some female disciples within the cult. This degree of control affords no space for accountability or checks and balances. Female cult members are seeking permission for nearly every action, rendering them entirely reliant on Frank de Graaf’s approval and direction.
Male disciples are making financial contributions which are used to finance the whole cult. Most of the female disciples have no money at all and are fully dependent on Frank de Graaf for their food, housing, and any other needs. This financial reliance makes departing from the cult totally impossible, which is exactly what Frank wants.
Frank de Graaf is entirely self-proclaimed, with no accountability whatsoever, and claims that all this is superfluous due to his spiritual perfection as a God. He doesn’t accept any criticism and will always mirror it back as the critical person to be unworthy and lonely, these words are used very frequently. He considers himself the ultimate authority on truth, so anybody leaving the cult is seen as unclear because a sane person would never leave a person who is God. Former members are consistently portrayed as unworthy, bitter and angry, thereby discrediting their perspectives entirely.
He engages in sexual activities frequently (no full intercourse) with some of his female disciples. He is making them believe that their sexuality is impure and that he is the only one who can redirect it to God. While claiming he is only receiving their energy, he has also been proactive in searching for sexual activities himself.
